CCTS have the largest Mobotix IP installation in the UK, and probably Europe.
A recent meeting with Mike from mobotix has confirmed CCTS have delivered the largest Mobotix install in the UK...
The customer has a mixture of Ip and digital camera devices totalling 300, with future plans in the coming months to increase with to just 330, making this the largest mobotix installation in the UK.
Some 250 Ip mobotix single and dual lens cameras have been installed at turners of soham, a 25 acre distribution centre for one of the largest independent haulers in the UK..
Peter Lancaster, IT manager for the Turners group, liked the ability to bring CCTV into the remit of IT, and with multiple locations around the UK, eventually all sites will be on line, over the ever-growing Turners vpn backbone.
The customer and environment was the deciding factor, as the cameras are virtually maintenance free, install them and forget about them really, that and the harsh environments that the are also installed, some cameras reside in fridge bays, cold stores and ajacent blast freezers.
Backing up the recording solution is some 14 servers with 28 terabytes of storage.
We best found the easiest way to administer such an installation was the milestone CCTV video management system, again this is installed on the servers and desk top users, have there designated camera views on there desktop, making it a truly outstanding solution. And meaning all depots can actually use the system, fridge and cold store managers can view their bays and even the maintenance engineers can view cameras in the roof spaces to view the fridge machines and possible points of failure.
The whole infrastructure runs over the company's LAN, which consist of some 22 data cabinet and enclosures and approx 10 miles of fibre optic cabling, all installed and maintained by CCTS.
In additional CCTS delivery the Toshiba cix670 Ip telephony switch also utilised the company LAN to over 500 telephone users.

The CCTS data will be fully on line mid 2008, the service will provide a range of services that man of our customers are current sending out to centre alot further afield.

CCTV
